Each content chapter contains a “Looking At” section. These sections are specifically designed to explore major themes that are often the focus of thematic essay questions on the Global History Regents. These “Looking At” sections provide students with a basic foundation for understanding a major theme found in that chapter. These “Looking At” sections include an in-depth look at such themes as geography, government, economics, historical events, turning points, technology, and the problems of developing nations. All of these are common themes that are tested on Thematic Essays.
